Lip Filler

Lip Filler treatment in turkey sakarya

Lips, the timeless symbol of facial aesthetics and attractiveness, are the most important focal point that draws all attention when communicating, smiling, and speaking. Lips, which naturally possess a fullness, vibrant color, and sharp contours in youth, gradually lose their volume, become thinner, and develop fine wrinkles around them (barcode lines) due to advancing age, genetic factors, harmful effects of the sun, and decreased collagen production. Having structurally thin or asymmetrical lips is also a matter of aesthetic concern for many people, not just the aging process.

Lip Fillers, the most popular application of aesthetic dermatology with the highest patient satisfaction, is a gold-standard medical procedure that restores lost volume to the lips, defines their contour, and corrects asymmetries without the need for surgical intervention.

The fundamental philosophy of the lip filler procedures applied in our clinic today is to stay completely away from the exaggerated, artificial “duck lip” appearances that are contrary to the natural anatomy of the face, which we frequently encountered in the media in past years. Our goal is to create a soft, fresh, and naturally full look that perfectly harmonizes with your face through the miraculous moisturizing power of hyaluronic acid, adhering to the rules of the “golden ratio,” leaving an appearance that “doesn’t look like it has been done.”

How much is a lip filler in Turkey

What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)? Why is it the Safest Dermal Filler?

In our clinic, only premium Hyaluronic Acid (HA)-based fillers approved by the world’s most respected health authorities (FDA) are used for lip filler procedures.

Hyaluronic acid is not a foreign or synthetic chemical; it is a sugar derivative naturally found in our skin, joints, and eye fluid, whose primary task is to provide moisture and elasticity to tissues. It has the capacity to hold water up to 1000 times its own weight. When injected into the lip, it does not only create physical volume (swelling), but it also deeply moisturizes the lip tissue from the inside out, revitalizes the lip color, and heals cracks caused by dryness. Because it is the body’s own building block, the risk of an allergic reaction is almost non-existent, and it is safely absorbed (metabolized) and excreted by the body over time.

When are Lip Fillers Used?

Lip fillers are not only used to enlarge the lips. The reasons our patients apply to our clinic and their treatment goals are quite diverse:

  • Volume Deficiency (Thin Lips): Adding a natural fullness that harmonizes with facial features to an upper or lower lip that is structurally or age-relatedly very thin.
  • Asymmetry Correction: Millimetric balancing of inequalities between the right and left halves of the lip or disproportion between the upper and lower lip (according to the golden ratio, the lower lip is expected to be slightly thicker than the upper lip).
  • Contour Definition (Cupid’s Bow): Creating a more attractive and youthful expression by sharpening the “V” shaped curve (Cupid’s Bow) on the upper part of the lip and the lip borders (vermilion border).
  • Erasing Barcode (Smoker’s) Lines: Softening the vertical lines (smoker’s lines) formed above the lip with advancing age and mimic use, and slightly everting (turning outward) the lip.
  • Drooping Mouth Corners: Slightly lifting the downward-drooping corners of the mouth (the beginning of marionette lines), which cause a sad and tired expression, with filler support.

Modern Application Techniques: Which One is Best for You?

Lip anatomy is unique to each individual, and a one-size-fits-all filler technique cannot be suitable for everyone. In the detailed analysis performed before the procedure, the most appropriate technique for your expectations and lip structure is determined:

1. Classic (Natural) Lip Filler

It is an application performed to provide general volume, smoothness, and moisture without changing the lip’s own anatomical shape. With the filler spreading evenly into the lip tissue, a highly natural result that doesn’t scream “I am here” is achieved.

2. Russian Lips Technique

It is one of the most popular techniques in recent years. The goal in this technique is not to puff the lips forward (like a duck lip), but to open the lip by expanding it in a vertical (up and down) direction. The filler is injected with a needle in vertical columns outward from the center of the lip. The Cupid’s Bow is emphasized, and the lip takes on a flatter, smoother, and “heart-shaped” appearance. When viewed from the side, the lip does not protrude forward.

3. French Lips

A romantic and sophisticated technique focusing only on the middle part of the upper lip and the Cupid’s bow to provide a slight pout, while the lower lip is left wider toward the sides.

Step-by-Step Treatment Process

Lip filler is an extremely comfortable procedure known as “lunch break aesthetics” that does not interrupt your daily life.

1. Design and Numbing: The procedure begins with your physician analyzing your facial proportions. A strong topical local anesthetic (numbing) cream is applied to the procedure area to reduce the sensation of the needle entry to zero, and you wait for 15-20 minutes.

2. Injection Phase: Using special micro-needles or blunt-tipped fine cannulas (which do not harm blood vessels), the hyaluronic acid filler is placed into the lip tissue with millimetric touches. Since the premium fillers used contain “lidocaine” (a painkiller) within themselves, no pain is felt during the procedure. The process takes an average of 15 minutes.

3. Post-Procedure: You can see the new shape of your lip in the mirror as soon as the application is finished. However, it is perfectly natural to have slightly more swelling (edema) than normal for the first 2-3 days due to tissue trauma.

4. First 24-Hour Rules: On the day of the procedure, excessively hot drinks (tea, coffee) should not be consumed, smoking should be avoided, heavy sports should not be done to avoid increasing edema, and hard massages on the lips should be avoided.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

You can quickly access answers to the most common questions and find detailed information about the treatment process here.

Depending on the brand of hyaluronic acid filler used, the cross-linking structure of the formulation, and the person’s own metabolic rate (the speed at which the body melts the filler), the longevity of lip fillers varies on average between 8 to 12 months. When repeated regularly, the permanence of the filler can extend up to 1.5 years as tissue memory is formed.

Thanks to the highly effective numbing creams applied before the procedure and the local anesthetic (lidocaine) inside the filler material itself, the pain felt is minimal. Most of our patients describe the procedure merely as slight pressure and a “mosquito bite” sensation.

Yes, the biggest advantage of hyaluronic acid-based fillers is that they are 100% reversible. If the result of the procedure does not satisfy you or asymmetry occurs, a special dissolving enzyme called Hyaluronidase is injected into the lip. This enzyme starts breaking down the filler within seconds, and your lips completely return to their former (pre-procedure) state within 24 hours.

The duck lip appearance occurs as a result of applying the filler to the wrong layer of the lip (toward the muscle above the lip instead of the red zone) or injecting much more filler than the lip can carry at once (e.g., 2-3 syringes). In our clinic, the filler is prevented from protruding forward by using “micro-drop” or vertical “Russian Lips” techniques that do not exceed anatomical boundaries. Our slogan is always the “less is more” philosophy.
